I am many times looking at websites code and thinking to myself that I like one of the colors used but as I google the color code like #CCCCCC I only get code information back.  Today I found a website where you can enter the code like #93278F and it will return to you what the color looks like.  It is an awsome site.  You can find it here at combotester.

If you have not already heard of SquareSpace, it is a publishing/ CMS (content management system) tool that you can use for your website.  It is like WordPress, Joomla and Drupal.  Like the other three as similar inthe same genus etc etc.  I have been using wordpress for a while.  Before that I used only CSS, HTML and PHP hand coded stuff, which I still love to do.  For someone who does not know any web programming langauges SquareSpace is great.  It is very user / WISIWIG friendly.  For someone like me who knows CSS, HTML and PHP sometimes I got frusterated because looking for how to do something in SquareSpace took longer than acuatlly hand coding it.  I will try it out for the full two weeks and hold my judgement until the end.  But I think I may be entering with some bias as I a) already have a very reasonable awsome hosting plan and b) the price seems high as compared to other hosting options.  That is squarespace’s selling point though, that you don’t have to know anything or tweak andy geeky computer code in order to get a cool looking website up.  I may not be the person they are catering too.  Below are screenshots of what I have done so far.

I downloaded the Drupal 6.10 from here and unzipped the file and then uploaded it to my server.  I first attempted to install it at http://www.tarraguna.com/prueba/drupal but Drupal by default is set to be at the main domain.  As I yet don’t know how to tweak the settings, I just used the www.anochezca.com domain for testing.  So I uploaded the files onto www.anochezca.com in the main folder.  It was really easy to install after that.  You will need to know the informatin about your database.  The pictures should tell the story.

and that is that it was installed.  Now I need to learn about all the settings and how to change everything.  I did add a new template.  I downloaded it from a website and FTP it at www.domainname/themes.  You can see it at www.anochezca.com.

So I am thinking of changing my template.  The first picture below is how my site looks now and the second picture is another template that I also really like.  I am mulling over the idea of changing the template so feel free to let me know which you like better.

So I was updating the about page on my Tarraguña website and then I tested it. I got the screen shown below.

I reuploaded it multiple times, started over with a whole new file multiple times. I even uploaded the same file under a differnt name “about1″ and it showed up fine. I just could not get the about page to work. I then decided to test it in other browsers. IE showed the about page fine and Safari showed the about page fine. What was going on with the FireFox browser in this one instance.

I don’t know for how long it will be messed up but you can also view it at www.tarraguna.com/english/about.html and the same exact file is at www.tarraguna.com/english/about1.html. For me right now that about.html shows up like above if opened in Firefox. Wierd.

I just found this neat website Me and my phones. It looks really cool so far. I currently have the Samsung Blackjack. I love it. Text messaging/ email/ instant messenger/ calender/ contacts…love it love it love! The only thing I don’t like is that it runs Windows Mobile so I have to shut it down everday in order to clear out all the junk. The Nokia 9300 really interests me. It has its very own operating system that is not windows.

I also just started my trial version of .mac, so my until March 10,2008 I am trying out the email address of tarraguna@mac.com and I have a mac web site that should be at web.mac.com/tarraguna. Suppossedly just sync it with iWeb and it is real easy to use. It will probably be too easy to use for me so much that I will over analyze it and be like “why isn’t this working”. I have had to learn how to use verious ftp clients, learn html, javascript and all the Adobe CS3. I will be doing it backward by learning the hard way first and then doing it the easy way. Oh well we will see…

Some people operate on the idea that the less that you tell people the less that they have to discriminate against you with. Don’t construct your own prison. You can not control the image other people have of you. The image other people have of you really has little to do with you and more to do with how they feel about themselves.
